1. Long grain rice
The long-grain rice is recognized instantly by its cylindrical and lengthy shape appearance. They are some 4-5 times as long as it is broad, and they are most commonly used rice by people. While cooking, the rice is stuffed full of separated grains and does not stick to all. The best examples of long-grain rice are Royal Umbrella Thai Jasmine Rice.
2. Medium-grain rice
Medium-grain rice is around 2-3 times longer than it is broad. While cooked, the tender grains are chewed most and stick together a bit. The top examples of medium grain rice are bomba rice, Arborio rice, etc., as Chinese-style rice.
3. Short-grain rice
Short-grain rice is plump and short, and some are a bit longer than broad. The rice grains cling together without mushy while cooked it properly. It has a higher content of starch as compared to regular rice.
It is a common fact where that short and medium-grain rice are combined into the same field, which makes for less confusion. Some Japanese rice belongs to a short variety of grains.
